I have previously stayed in the Merit Crystal Cove hotel so this year decided to make a change and go for the Merit Lefkosa. Just before I went, I read a few reviews and one went on about how rude the staff are. It did worry me a bit but I need no need to worry. My visit to this hotel in December 2009 was my second and I will be back. It has good quality rooms and facilities and is certainly the best I have stayed in on Cyprus - north or south. Staff are friendly but, if you do not speak Turkish, you must accept that language may be an issue with cleaning staff. All other staff converse well in English.
